Below the Belt

Inside the ring of a boxing match, it is against the rules to hit below the belt. It is considered bad sportsmanship. Being in love is like being inside the ring of a boxing match, the only difference is the rules. Below the belt is not considered bad sportsmanship. In fact, there is not even a moderator that stops your opponent from kicking you in the face after you’re already on the floor. Being in love is more like a street fight, anything goes. Nothing is fair, and one fighter may end up with their heart ripped out of their chest, bruised and beaten, and unable to move on.

As Pat Benatar so accurately said back in the 80’s: Love is a Battlefield. The game of love never changes.
